The city won state approval for a long-term bond that enables it to settle more than $8 million in tax Michael Seeve, president of the regional developer Mountain Development Corporation, and John Galandak, president of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, have joined the University's Board of Trustees.

"We are delighted that Michael and John have joined the Board of Trustees," says President Kathleen Waldron. "Both bring valuable expertise and experience to the University, to our great benefit. Michael Seeve has been such a positive force on the Foundation Board for many years, and I look forward to that same enthusiasm and good counsel in his new capacity. John Galandak brings a similar passion for higher education to the Board, but from a different perspective. He is well known and well regarded in the state for his advocacy role, which will help the University on many different levels."

Seeve is a long-time supporter of the University. He joined the William Paterson Foundation in 2000, where he served as chairman for the past six years. Under his leadership, the Foundation assets grew, fundraising increased, and an annual golf outing was established. In his role at Mountain Development, Seeve manages a diverse collection of commercial, retail, and industrial assets totaling almost six million square feet in five states. He also serves as president of the New Jersey Chapter of NAIOP, the state's leading trade association for the commercial real estate development industry and chairman of the Paterson Special Improvement District. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Seeve was recognized in 2006 as one of "Forty Under 40" honorees by NJBIZ, among other honors.

Galandak is president of the Commerce and Industry Association, a membership organization of 800 businesses and not-for-profits in New Jersey working to promote business development in the state. He is also publisher/CEO of Commerce Magazine/Commerce Enterprises, Inc., the association's media arm. Previously, he served for 17 years as president of the Foundation for Free Enterprise. Galandak has served on numerous statewide committees, including a subcommittee of Governor Christie's Transition Team. Galandak holds bachelor's and master's degree in zoology from Rutgers University.
